Kriminalvården is looking for an education expert

Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

Kriminalvården will conduct education in the upcoming child and youth departments; primary school, secondary school, adapted primary school, adapted secondary school. The environment is designed to meet the specific needs of this target group within Kriminalvården. The operation is part of the nationally coordinated educational activities that also include education equivalent to Komvux. It aims to provide each student with an equivalent and qualitative education.

The education for children and youth is primarily conducted through face-to-face teaching, in a safe and structured environment. The education is integrated with other efforts within Kriminalvården to support the development and future opportunities of children and youth.

The position is located at Kriminalvården's headquarters in Norrköping.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and strategically skilled expert to support and drive the development of education within the school forms of primary school, secondary school, adapted primary school, adapted secondary school, and special school. In this key role, you will work closely with the principal and deputy principals at a strategic level, tasked with ensuring high quality in education. You will have a central function in the systematic quality work, by coordinating, leading processes, and following up on the work, analyzing results, and suggesting measures to support the school management with decision-making material.

An important part of the role is also to represent the section in collaborations with other activities for inmates and to have contact with external parties such as the Swedish National Agency for Education and industry organizations. You will also contribute to spreading knowledge and keeping the organization updated on current trends and research in the field of education.

QUALIFICATIONS

In your role as an expert, you have very good pedagogical insight and the ability to work strategically. The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, which is why good teamwork skills are an important trait, as well as the ability to work independently. You also have an easy time adapting to changing circumstances.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant academic education, for example in pedagogy, school development, or political science.
• Experience working in schools, preferably at a strategic level, with knowledge of primary school, secondary school, and/or adapted primary school/adapted secondary school.
• Experience leading and coordinating change processes, development work, and systematic quality work within the education sector.
• Knowledge of current governing documents and regulations in the field of education.
• Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Very good digital competence.
• Driving license B.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working with adapted education or special support.
• Experience collaborating with external actors.
• Good ability to communicate and collaborate with various actors, both internally and externally.
